Frank, I would go back to the dealer and talk with the service director and he dose not help then I would go to the GM of the dealer then the owner. If they don't want to help call the regional director for the dealer. It does take some time but in the end it hurts the parts guy the most because a complaint against his department doesn't look good when he goes to get another job with another GM dealer!
Also just a thought here but have you gone to another dealer to see if they are selling the same part? Maybe this guy Steve took that part back on return and didn't notice it wasn't a GM part until after and that is why he sold it to you with out the box and now won't take it back?? Just a thought?
