T56 Input shaft difference between SBC/LT1 and LS Engine
Are you sure you have the right transmission for the engine?
The bell housing, input shaft and front mounting plate for the T56 are different for the SBC and LT1 versus the LS engine.
Sorry can't help you on the 3/4" spacer question and the throwout bearing question, however it seems like there are adapters out there, for many different setups, so you may not need a custom spacer if you know what you have and what you are adapting to.
