I just remember when telling one of the well known oil pan makers about my application they said to not use those big dividers. Those were intended for high speed Nascar oval track applications or something like that.

Are you saying shallow is preferred? That's not my understanding but could be wrong. I always thought shallow was simply for clearance reasons.
