If you are planning on doing that later, just go ahead and get a AutoKraft pan or even the Mast road race pan. They are $400-600 depending on which model, but they will fit cars with a rack in them.

Speaking of oil pans, the existing oil pan with my LS6 engine is Milodon with remote oil filter. I am thinking of getting the Autokraft oil pan, so my question is this; can I replace the oil pan while the engine is in or I need to take the engine out in order to replace the oil pan?
