After you build a few... you manage to gain some basic skills.

To me -- more impressive builds are guys like Jason (WAR) that manage to do SEMA quality stuff their very first time around!
I will also say this for the benefit of the PROFESSIONAL SHOPS:
Until you've actually done the work yourself (the client) - it's very hard to understand why a pro shop charges the amount of hours it takes to build this stuff. But if you've done the actual work - then you finally get it. Doing stuff RIGHT takes time... it takes an investment in tools... and the skills to use them require time and commitment and that doesn't come in the form of cheap labor.
