Maybe it is just me, but it seems like it is much harder to get the right visual appearance between the ground and rockers on the early cars. It seems like most any 17-18" wheel and tire package, looks high off the ground, unless the cars are tucking some serious tire.

The wheels are 17x7 with a 225 45 17 (25" tall) and 18x8 with a 255 40 18 (26" tall) same tire profile and gives a 1" rake while keeping the wheel lip gap consistant, which these body styles need IMO.
