Sorry for being late to the party.. Yes thats the stuff to use, Ill get Claytons trim sticks all the time. There a soft aluminum so you can shape them and sand the ends anyway you want. I have a jig set up to drill the backside with a very small bit 5/64 then run a very small screw into to hold on. I have even cut them in half to make it 1/8 wide for really detailed trim work. Sand smooth and polish
