I think people were still looking for someone moderate this time around. Historically that is what usually plays a big factor in deciding the winner. I wish we could have seen what would have happened if Romney ran on a moderate ticket that didn't veer so far back and forth trying to appease everyone. I think the Romney campaign spent a lot of time pandering to the social conservatives, probably to try and ease their fears of voting for a mormon, which was probably a gigantic waste of time considering how likely social conservatives were to vote for Obama in the first place. Romney's record isn't representative of what a lot of people (left and right) probably figured they would be getting after seeing all of the campaigning done by both parties. I think I'll just cut my ramblings short right there before.

Matt brings up a question that I truly and honestly don't understand and would appreciate someone explaining to me. What does Romney being a Mormon have anything to do with it? Personally I don't care about a persons religion, race or sexual preference. I respect that and that person, so long as they respect the same in return. Why is this such a big deal?
