Just a little input on your posted link:

no way in hell will two 044 support 1550hp

Just the other day on a dyno 5.0 TT Ford run out of fuel at 540RwHp with one 044, and builted fuel system. And the pump itself was modified allready, it didnt have that factory banjo fitting or one way valve and did have a bigger bore fitting in the outlet.

On your question in hand,

You have two choice to do:

Build as tall surge tank as you can fit, feed it with from the bottom with one 044 or similar and from the top of the tank have a big (1/2"ish) line back to fuel tank so you can always have a full surgetank, make sure that it will not cause air bubbles to the fuel, and from surge have a two sufficient sizes outlets with big bore fittings, use good filters, wired the two or three 044, sufficient size lines. Wire the pumps so that they will come on as boost go's up.

Be sure to use heavy gage wires and quality relays.

I builted a +1000 hp twin screw blown Hemi in a '68Charger and for that I made an aluminium fuel tank with intank three 044 and wired them to come on at stages upon the boost and/ or load.

Other way is to build the same system but install the surge tank on the front of the engine like most drag cars have, if you car is a fast launcher it much more easier for fuel to travel backwards than forwards. But on this option you have ot think careful what kind of tank and where to install it.

In here we have re85, I think it is same stuff, on that we have seen 18% average increase on fuel consumption on many different engines.
