x2 the PCM on an LS engine doesn't need the oil pressure info. You can run a mechanical gauge with the engine using the correct fittings.

My biggest peeve with a mechanical gauge is that you have a pressurized oil line coming into the interior of the car. Should something happen to that line, you'll spray oil all inside the car and be stuck where you are until you can cap the oil leak. If an electric gauge breaks, so what. Keep driving and fix it later. Just my opinion on the matter of course.
