Sure LS are efficient and bst bang for buck, cheap to build, plentiful yada yada. BUT they are becoming commonplace. I am seeing everything with LS engines on car shows and get togethers. SEMA had 50k cars with LS engines. It is not entirely a bad thing, opens the doors to more products which in turn (theoretically) should help lower their cost.
The cost of building or rebudiling a 350, 383 or 400 block is hard to compare when youc na have bigger gains on a cheapo ls and light alum block.
LS are greta and all but they are becoming too common. I have two projects with LS engines, and honestly struggled with the idea on turning one into a LS setup but was hard to pass doing a swap for virtually free, compared to building a 400 Pontiac engine to get to a similar level.
Will be cool to see more cars going back to roots engine builds, or heck even seeing matchig numbers cars racing.
