Check the oil level. Sounds simple, but!!!!!! My Dad's 07 has done this since new. When he first heard it he checked the oil and it was off the stick. In the end it used more than 3 quarts of oil in 3500 miles. He had an ongoing battle with GM about it. They kept trying to fix it kept burning oil. Here is a short list, new valve covers, new oil baffles, new breather parts, new valve guides and seals, and finally all new pistons and rings. Before he got to the pistons and rings he contacted a lemon law lawyer and got a settlement. He did not get a new truck because he did not report the issue soon enough. My advise is get it to the garage and get on record asap. They did the pistons and rings while his case was in progress. This seems to have mostly solved the issue. I can not tell how much of a pain it was to deal with. His truck is an 07 and he just got finished with the issue last summer. 4 Years! Good Luck!
