Check to make sure your reverse lock out solenoid is wired properly. Could also be a worn synchro; some guys just flip them around and it fixes the problem. Also, I've heard some guys put it in first, then reverse and it eliminates the rev grind.

I have a tko-600 and I have to put it in 1st before going into reverse. I thought I had a bad trans, but that little move stopped it fom grinding into reverse. Cheaper fix than I thought it was going to be.
