Thanks for the replies. I've got the Joe Gibbs stuff here already, so that's my break in oil. After that, I'm not sure what to use. I have 10 qts of the M1 0W-40, but I'm not sure I'll use it. Anybody got a recommendation? Amsoilguy?
So engine mods:
Wiseco forged pistons, 11.5:1 CR. The rest of the bottom end is stock, and it's been align-honed with ARP studs, along with new bearings (set to .0025" clearance). My engine builder wanted to trade out the factory titanium rods, and I wouldn't let him. Once you do that, then you need a new crank, or lots Mallory metal slugs to balance it. Then you need a bigger oil pump, etc....
The pistons are a few grams lighter than stock so it balanced easily with some lightening holes in the crank.
The cam is a Norris spec special grind from Comp Cams. .613/.613 lift, with approximately 232/244 duration, etc. Just your ordinary cam bump up. The heads are ported a bit, and all the chambers are set to 70 cc, with new exhaust valves, re-coated intake valves (they're titanium too), new guides and a valve job. Oh and new BTR (Brian Tooley Racing) springs. Tuning will include new LS9 injectors.
The engine made 540 rwhp before... and it should make about that after. The tune will be a bit fatter so that will offset any mild power gains from the heads and pistons. It used to pull hard right to redline, and it better do it now.
