I went from worn out stock rubber bushings to solid aluminum. There were four bushings between the subframe and chassis and two bushings between the core support and sub frame (gen 1 camaro). After changing out all six original rubber bushings to solid aluminum I noticed a big difference in the way the car felt going down the road, and especially while cornering. The car felt much more stable in straight line and more precise on the steering.
I was not sure which way to go when I made the switch... and I was concerned about vibration or extra noise with the aluminum... but it is not a problem at all. If I had to do it over I would still go with aluminum. You probably couldn't go wrong with either poly or aluminum.
