I have no logical explanation why we did these spindles.. It was just a challenging project for us to do.. J/K.. It has to do with cost.. When I priced out the GM spindles with the manufacturing of the steering arm.. It was expensive.. SO we just went ahead & designed our own C6 Upright.. It maintains the stock geometry but has our steering arm built into it for our suspension.. Right now I am waiting for these new ball joints that should be available soon that will have a steel pivot ball instead of a nylon that comes stock in the C6 upright plus has a grease zert fitting.. Plus I can make my own pin so that I can do dual tapped bearings with aluminum hubs.. Then we can have the great debate about steel vs aluminum.. Yes my steel spindles will be a bit heavier than the GM aluminum ones.. but I have my reason why I prefer the steel ones instead .. The bottom line I just have always wanted to do a spindle project since I saw the ones Mike Maiers did for Brian’s car.. Now I know more about how GM made their uprights.. press fit of ball joints.. tapers on the ball joints & their bearing packs..
