You need to know about cars. This is CHP so they are heavy on tech and concentrate on later 60's and early 70's Chevy musclecars. Im sure they would want knowledge of small block, big block, LSx and such GM engines.
I don't think a degree is all that important, but you will need to be able to formulate coherent thoughts and string together words in new and interesting ways. You also need to understand the importance of deadlines

It's a fun career, but it is work and has some of the same stress as in any other job. Then again you get to play with cars a lot and hang out with other gearheads.

How about soemone who can put a humorous slant on anything, AND can spell? College educated, Big as a dumptruck and will supply my own Crisco to help slide into smaller Hot Rods!!
