Scott, I know what paper you are talking about. And yes guys, it's is, or was for a lack of better terms, was a black, tar paper like material that was behind those sail panels. It was on my Chevelle as well. My opinion Scott, which doesn't count for much , was it was some sort of sound deadner back in the 70's. That was top notch technology back then. It would probably be equivalent to all the extra thick tar that's on all the sound deadener made today. I would assume you can't find it like that anymore Scott. Me personally, I'm gonna throw some Dynamat up there on mine and be thru with it. Oh, and when you said, "B pillar"...I was like he doesn't have a 4-door Chevelle.
