These get talked about a lot. People mostly call them "Mil-spec" connectors. I worked on military trucks for 5 years and they are nice to work with. I would love to put some on a couple cars but trying to buy them is a freaking nightmare. You need to figure out what shell and insert you need for each half. There are a million options. I'm sure some people understand them better than I do, but reading the sites that sell them just confuses me. They aren't exactly cheap connectors either, especially if you want stainless shells rather than plastic.
II much fabrication does sell a set, but I believe they are just offering the one set up, so it would be limited to the pins available in it. It would be cool if a vender put together packages of a few different size connectors. Maybe a dozen options that would cover most of what guys like us would want to take all the confusion out of trying to figure out who to order from. If only I knew how, I could be that vender lol.
Had I thought about it at the time I should've cut the connectors off all the scrap harnesses we replaced when I was working in Iraq
