My cold air intake is 17" diameter... I fabricated mine from 22 gauge steel. I didn't like the way the rubber tube looked either. I bought the rubber foam tape 3/16" thick x 1-1/4" wide from Auto Zone. Here are some pictures of the packaging and some pictures of the install. They also had the same foam tape 3/4" wide.


This is different than the foam in the previous post... I liked this material better.
