In order to use this trans on GM, you must purchase an aftermarket bellhousing that has the Ford bolt pattern (Ford Toploader type) for your GM block. They are readily available from Lakewood or Mcleod. You will still use a GM clutch and disc since it is a 26spline input, but use a Ford throwout bearing. I will throw in an alum driveshaft complete with forged yokes ($450), you will need to measure and shorten it if necessary.
That is all that is needed to do beside relocate the shifter plate on the top. I spoke to DarkHorse Performance (owner Fred)425-227-7778 and verified the info. If you need more info or pics, let me know.

That is correct Frank. I've used the Ford version twice behind Chevy's with the correct McLeod bellhousing.
