Default Vintage Air Heater Control Valve mounting

Hey guys, I'm in the midst of a Vintage Air install in the Chevelle. I'd like to know if this needs to be mounted rigidly instead of just hanging off of the heater hose. Also how much isolation is needed so this valve doesn't melt other heater hoses or A/C lines? Does it need to be mounted in a convienent location for service or just wiring?

Thanks!
