Default 67 Camaro with minitubs - drag wheels w/ slicks?

Ok guys/girls a bunch of buddies are talking about going to the track this upcoming spring and a particular friend (hardcore ford guy) just picked up a stock 09 Shelby and is already talking smack. I had plans to get a set of track wheels with slicks either way. Figured Id start looking now and came across a set of used weld prostars 15x10 w/ 5" backspacing and a M/T 28 x 10.5W slick. I currently have ridetech airbar with shockwaves, a narrowed moser rear with 35 spline axles and wavetrac diff. My current rollers are forgeline DS3 18x12 w/ 5-3/4" backspacing and a bfgoodrich kdw 335/30/18. Fits both inside and outside with about 1/2"-5/8" on each side give or take a bit depending if I'm all the way up or down. I know the KDW has sectional width of 13.5" and a overall diameter of 25.9". Now the slick has a sectional width of 13.1"and a overall diameter of 28.1". Id like to go with as big of wheel and tire if I'm going to do it, but at the same time I'm not looking to BFH anything to get it to fit. Opinions and insight by others who have explored this? Thank you all the help, Steven
