I can do the forward thing --- and I even know how to get there -- the problem is it will only forward as an "iMessage" and not email… and I want the pics in email.

Greg, only select 3 photos to send at a time, the email option will then appear next to the imessage option. More than three at a time can't be sent via one email, you have to split them up.
