Hi Tim,
We don't get them from Ford/SVT so I don't know if we're talking about the same unit. It could be, because Strange makes the stuff for Ford.
The Strange nodular iron "S" case is inexpensive, lightweight & plenty strong for moderate Road Course & AutoX track duty with the 3.062 case bearings & Daytona pinion support (larger pinion bearings).
The regular nodular iron case is stronger & heavier.
When I need stronger than the "S" case, I go with the Strange "HD Pro aluminum" case (still with 3.062" bearings if the application is 31 spline. It's stronger but not such an anchor on weight as the regular Nodular iron case.
