This past summer I installed a LQ4 into a 69 camaro. I used the Holley pan with the Holley engine mount swap plates. I found that using the stock location plates set the engine to far back, almost against the firewall and the pan rested on the subframe.

To fix, I ordered the .5 inch forward plates. Using the stock location plates and the .5 inch plates stacked together, I was able to raise the engine 3/8 inch so the pan cleared the crossmember. I drilled out the threading in the stock location plates so the two plates can be used together.
