Lance -- I can't even remember how many cars I've owned - restored - hot rodded... etc. This includes NCRS Top Flight - Bloomington Gold winners... I've driven every one of them... including driving to Springfield, Ill to be judged for Bloomington. When I got home from that trip. The car came completely apart and was restored for the third time by me.
Driving 'em is the only way a guy will truly ever enjoy what he's built. I've always said - if you want a trophy - go to the store and buy one.
I've never been a "show car" guy - and I've never been a "show" guy. I like to drive to the show - get out - walk around - talk to my buddies - and leave and go on a drive to somewhere else. Sitting in a chair and listening to people - and talking to people that ask silly questions - and make silly comments... is not how I choose to spend my life. I have friends that go to two shows a weekend. For the life of me I can't figure out how they can do it. I can't sit still that long... and I can't retell the story of every detail of how I built the car over and over and over. Just shoot me!
