Too funny Jody! My very first car was a 1974 Pontiac LeMans. Very Similar to this but a maroon color.
I learned to drive in an mid eighties Camaro. (It wasn't a Z28, but still a nice car at the time and had a V8.) The guy who owned the driving school was a younger guy at the time and cool dude.
After I got my permit, I was driving around my mom's Ford Escort and my dad's Caprice Classic. Ahhhhhh,...........the memories. lol
