Covering the terminals makes sense to me, probably from either something coming loose or "forgotten" tools causing an arc?

In the days of LEAD ACID batteries - containers were used to keep the battery from being punctured and throwing acid all over the place. I think that's a rule that harkens back to the 70's.
Thanx Greg, so the box thing is probably what their refering to like in Dave's link. When its more or less a cage.


How many people out there are running "Optima's"? Spiral Cell tech or an equivalent vs lead based? just curious....
