Just left Danny's garage which is opposite my trailer -- and Larry Woo is there too --- they spent all manor of time fabing up exhaust mods. Very "creative" is an understatement...
Re the comment about DP being better prepared -- it's a Lingenfelter car - not Dannys... THEY do (or don't do) the prep. Give him credit for laying under the car until 10 O'clock making an attempt to save the weekend.
The GREEN '69 is WOT at 88 db.... stock suspension and is 28ish on the auto X.
That's called DRIVER SKILLS -- not lots of fancy parts... Stamped steel A arms - leaf springs. He's probably laughing his ass off at all your fancy pants cars running 30's. Nuff said.
Not sure what I personally expected out of the weekend -- but it's beating whatever those expectations where. Good group of folks here - having a great time - weather is dang near perfect... (could be a bit warmer)... Good vendor displays... Snap On - Baer - Willwood - Fox Shocks - Sampson Racing Communications (I bought a full driver to passenger intercom from him)... BF Goodrich etc.... with techs that actually are helpful. The school (conversation) I went to today on rebound settings and springs with the engineer from Fox was nothing short of amazing.
I get the sense that people are beginning to understand they have the potential to mess their cars up on the big track -- and are starting to take the attitude of -- "I think I'll just try to enjoy myself / there's nothing to win"... is spreading through the paddock. That's probably a good thing.
