James and Sieg, couldn't agree more! TMS was my first USCA event and also the first time I have had my Camaro on a road course. It was AWESOME. The camaraderie is by FAR the best part of the event. I can't go to Daytona (pains me to have to type that!!!!) but we are signed up for Gateway and trying to convince the wife to attend Road America or another event later in the year.
If you are considering attending a USCA event, don't think twice. Just sign up and go do it. The track time is greater than anything short of having your own track in your backyard. The Jet Hot instructors are a must if you are a Novice or even in the Advanced class. And last but not least, seek out Albert Melchior and hang at his barbecue with the crew. The dude can flat out cook and you will have the time of your life sharing stories, talking cars and just LYAO!!!!
