I always cut the hose and then peel the braided line back a bit so I can get a sharp straight razor blade on the end of the teflon only, and carefully cut it perfectly straight and perpendicular to clean up any roughness on the edge from cutting the hose.

Thanks, yeah I'm using the high pressure lines, I didn't straighten them up with a razor. Do you know if the farrel nuts are reusable?
