AMSOIL CVT Synthetic Transmission Fluid Information
I know its not pro-touring but these CVT trannys are an option in lots of cars now. Odds are some of you have one, I do. From the day I purchased the vehicle I have asked the service department about service on the transmission. Their response has been "life time fluid".
Recently a gentlemen I work with who had a CVT transmission in his Prius. That tranny failed and it was nearly 10k to have it replaced. The fluid was not changed in 150k. That car ended up being sold to the dealer for 1k and he bought a car to replace it because it just wasn't worth it.
I sure hope we are not building transmissions to be throw away parts rather then changing a fluid. So needless to say i'm going to change my fluid. I'm glad AMSOIL has developed a product to fill this application.
