I have an 07' altima with 3.5 and cvt. I bought it new. First year for cvt in the altima, so I was skeptical. My salesman told me while test driving that the cvt units are non-serviceable. I did a little research and found similar info. I never considered changing the fluid, until about 250k miles in the dealer for an oil change, when the service tech tells me I should change my cvt fluid. I asked him "if it were yours, would you change the fluid at this point, with 250k on the clock?"
He replied "nope!"
I've now got 305k on the car, and original cvt tranny fluid. Zero problems.
