Default Seat track extensions

Years ago, when I used to run Unlimited Racing in wonderful "Detwah", we used to fab seat track extensions for most all of the first gen F-cars that were owned by the taller customers. They were simply 1" x 5/8" mild steel bar stock, that we would cut into 5" long sections. We would take and fixture them up, then using a mega rosebud torch tip, we would take and kick them up an inch right before the where the seat would bolt to them. Toss them in the drill press for the floorpan mounting bolts, tap them 3/8-16 for the seat fasteners, metal finish + black powdercoat = rave reviews from the customers! Quick, fast, simple - yet totally changed everything for the taller boys, making the cars much more enjoyable to drive for them.

The cool part was that you could still run the seat up forward enough to accomodate even the smallest driver / just about stock, or, due to the angles the floorpan and seat tracks are setup on these cars, the further you ran the seat back, the lower the seat would sit too. With this type of seat extension though, the seat could be moved so far back that nobody could really sit in the back seat though, as it would only leave about 4-5" of room between the seat back and the lower of the back seat.

The best part about the whole setup was that it required zero mods to the seats / vehicle, and could be installed / removed in less than 10 mins per seat. I always did wonder if we should have started producing them for other people...
