All kidding aside, glad you posted this up. I have been wanting to do the same thing with a 1960 caddy convertible. Maybe I can learn something watching this build. Just make sure you nail down the wheel base before you get started.

So YESTERDAY I got an email from a guy I've known for a long time -- who's built many many hot rods -- inviting me over to his house to see the '40 Ford pickup he's building. Why? Because he's short like I am --- and he's STRETCHING his cab and thought I should sit in it before I get started.

I thought that's why people stretched their wheelbase -- in order to fit in the car?? Oh.... well maybe not apparently. LOL

He's also using an LS motor.

Even for us short guys, these trucks can be a little cramped. I have extended the cab two inches and recessed the firewall 1 3/4" to make room for an ls engine with a front runner system. Every thing else pretty straight forward. Superide in front and 9" in rear with 4-bar and c/o.
