pull your dist cap off and look at the pick up coil and module. see if the pick up looks overheated, oiled up and check the connector. could be a module issue too.

Do you still have your old yellow wire that ran to the coil from the R terminal on the starter? I had a car where they added an HEI but forgot to terminate that wire. It was grounding out on the bell housing on hard acceleration.
