Go PTFE but do NOT buy the Summit or Jegs branded fittings. You can't get the things together, which may have been dontliftoshift's problem. There is obviously a manufacturing issue with those things and I did call those guys to tell them their stuff is junk. After I switched to Aeroquip fittings, I had zero issues. The bonus is you can use the same line for power steering and other high pressure applications.

There are a couple of tools that will make your life easier. A braided hose cutter and a doohickey that separates the braid from the PTFE. You can also try a cut off wheel. The heat produced will usually separate it for you.
