Sorry! I LOVE winching mine on and off.... I have a great WARN winch with synthetic rope -- and a WIFI remote.....

Snap the hook in the pick up point and press a button.... bingo they're on. Not sure what this "time" thing you mention is.... But I seem to have plenty of it! LOL
