I agree --- low oil pressure and high operating RPM's.... not a good mix. The new motor has far better oil pressure - SOUNDS better - runs stronger (despite the slightly lower peak HP numbers - that's a different dyno issue). While on the surface of things you wouldn't think the valves would be directly affected by the lower oil PRESSURE (provided there is VOLUME)... the oiling thru the rockers and flowing down the valve stem would be cooling them as well as keeping them oiled.
The only thing that was reused was the crank and the block and the head casting. EVERYTHING else is brand new. Those titanium valves are over the top expensive BTW! And there's a lot of them! LOL
After having the motor back to the SAME builder and having the SAME exact issue time after time (Valve train failures) -- it went to someone with a fresh set of eyeballs (Borello Racing Engines). I now have more invested in rebuilds than I paid for the little Yellow Lemon to begin with.
The part that always bugged me the most - is that my buddies all are running event after event and NEVER having any motor issues... and here I am with the highest dollar motor and I can't make a weekend without a rebuild! That's BS in my book! Hopefully that's all behind us now. The little Lemon FLIES now!
