Exactly. My grandfather had a saying of "I'm too poor to buy a cheap coat". I make purchases with that in mind. I'd much rather spend more up front... nothing pisses me off more than breaking tools and having to buy the same thing over.
I leave an emergency box with a decent set of el cheapos in my truck. Have them just in case, but not the good one just in case they get stolen.
