Does your a/c system have a way to control it? That's the reason the aftermarket a/c companies recommend not using the stock compressor. I'm no a/c expert just going on what I was told by Vintage Air. My guess would be the ecu uses pwm to control the compressor based on whatever parameters are set-up in the ecu.

Hmmm.... since the displacement is controlled by the pressure in the high side (
Article) and the 2010 Camaro compressor has a clutch, it shouldn't really matter.
I am pretty sure (99%) the compressor we used for our '56 build (1996 Corvette LT4) is a variable displacement as well, and it works beautifully.
