No, nobody told me it would...and I knew it would be an issue...just hard headed
I've cut the sub-structure out of the hood and still need an inch and seven sixteenths as mentioned. I'm going to take an inch and a half out of the runners...that's about max before you start running into clearance problems with the fuel rail.
