If you start with a real Z28 - you end with a real Z28. No matter what you do in between.
I say go for it, take pictures of the project as you proceed and if any body asks questions tell the truth. That way you are not hiding anything and if you ever need to sell it
the person buying will know exactly what they got a real Z28.
