The holes did in fact line up from my last update, but it didn't make for a good picture. Now that the bed is bolted to the chassis and we can maintain the alignment, it's time to continue finishing the fab on the bed sides. One of the design ques is rocker exit exhaust. Because this project is flying along so quickly and I need more to do simply cutting a hole and sticking the tubing through just won't work. I will post a screen shot of the design as soon as I tweak a couple things. Until then here is the start of the fabrication. The machined parts will follow. Lets call this the mounting sleeve.

The pattern I used for the sleeve was done in solidworks. I used a profile gauge to get the curvature of the rocker panel and then scanned that into the computer. From there I built the models and printed the templates for the sleeve and the cutout below. It worked surprisingly well!

Time to cut the hole and check the fit. No turning back now!

Love it, I can work with that. Time to weld it up and finish it off.

Now to do it one more time on the other side. Once the other side is done, I will take some as built measurements to adjust the models for the machined parts. Then it's off to the machine shop. Thanks for checking it out!
