After winter came up faster than I had hoped, my dad and I ended up doing all of the sandblasting for the chassis and body by ourselves in his garage in the temporary paint booth that we set up to do the blasting, priming, bodywork and paint in. I don't have an enclosed trailer and did not want to attempt to bring both the body and chassis out into the weather in bare metal. I purchased a sandblaster and we did all the work ourselves. The paint booth that we set up works great and once the body work and priming is finished on the body we plan to take down the poly that is currently up, thoroughly clean the floor and put up new poly so everything is nice and clean for base coat and clear. I actually debated not blasting the body because I was told that the car was solid and ready for paint by the guy who sold me the body. The windshield and rear glass channels were completely rotted out and the guy used body filler to fill in large holes and pits. There were also many other areas that were like Swiss cheese and he just smeared body filler or even seam sealer in some areas which was a pain to remove. Obviously I am glad we put in the work to blast the car even though he claimed the body was in perfect shape. Oh well I guess, it's completely solid now and ready to move forward.
Currently the chassis and suspension components are all painted and mostly assembled. I also had a few parts powder coated which turned out pretty decent in gloss black. The chassis is a low gloss black as well as the roll cage. The headers and exhaust pipes were ceramic coated in satin black. I'm really looking forward to assembling everything once the body is painted.
