Wayne,
Transmission guys will tell you you need heat in the transmission fluid. Like your engine oil, ATF being too cool is not good for the trans. Every cooler instructions I have ever seen tell you to plumb in a cooler BEFORE the cooler in your radiator so it can heat the fluid back to coolant temp before it goes back to the transmission. If you're really locked into that radiator, best practice would be to wire a temp sensor & relay to your trans cooler fan & cycle it to control fluid temp. Not sure how practical that is though. Sorry....
