you cant really compare a 15* ls1 to a 23* sbc,but ake a 15* ls1 to a 18* sbc and they are very close,most the aftermarket ls1 heads are 13* to unshroud the valve,sbc 18* and 15* heads flow just as well

I am just say that the sbc isn't dead.
