I use 3M vinyl wrap in gloss black, its barely noticeable on a black car. I do it to my everyday truck as well (also black). I go from the bottom of the rocker up to a body line, car is about 6", on the truck its about a foot wide. The stuff is really forgiving, you can really screw it up and it will smooth out.
