I've never used SPI products, yet I'm only an hour from them. I'm definately not a painter. I'm only telling what my painter told me to do. He urged me NOT to use my reducer, due to cost, yet he said it would be fine if I did, so I went with lacquer thinner, which again, he said would be fine. I used Valspar DTM epoxy/sealer/surfacer primer.
Totally agree with Mr. Weld on the application process. Cleanliness is key to a quality paint job.
